Nia
One-of-a-Kind Forest Child Sculpture
Nia spends her days walking barefoot along the damp forest floor, watching over the smallest lives, the ones most easily overlooked.
When a wing tears, she mends it with a single strand of spider silk. When a beetle becomes trapped in a puddle, she lifts it free on the tip of a twig. And when her beloved slow-kin grow weary from their long journeys, she offers them a drink from her acorn cup.
The cup is a treasure, polished smooth by her own hands. Each morning she fills it with clear water. If you ever find a perfect acorn cup filled with water resting upon a stone, tread lightly.
It may be Nia’s gift, left for a weary traveler yet to arrive.
Nia is entirely hand sculpted and hand painted by myself, without the use of molds or casts. She is accompanied by her snail companion, also fully hand sculpted and painted. In her hands she holds a real acorn cap, carefully filled with resin to resemble still water, a small offering preserved in time.
Her legs are sculpted to hang freely, meaning she must be seated on a ledge, shelf edge, or display surface so her feet can dangle naturally, just as they would in the Forest.
Every visible element has been made by hand, making Nia a true one-of-a-kind artwork, never to be recreated.
