She first found the leaf-winged creature known as a Pixie Bat when he was young, separated from his colony, grounded by cold and hunger, his wings torn like worn cloth. She fed him fruit and kept watch while he healed. Around his neck she placed a chain of silver, not as a restraint, but as a promise.
They have flown together ever since.
Nyxelle and her Pixie Bat are entirely hand sculpted and hand painted by myself, without the use of molds or casts. Every visible element has been shaped and finished by hand, making this a true one-of-a-kind artwork, created slowly and with intention. She will never be recreated.
